Crown King Fire District

District Overview: 

 The Crown King Fire District was established in 1980. Despite its small area of three square miles, the district serves an expansive area of 85 square miles. The district’s permanent population is 130, with an additional 650 individuals visiting during weekends and seasonal periods. The Crown King Fire District is primarily responsible for responding to incidents involving the PNF, State Land, and the Horsethief Basin.

Area Information:

The district is home to the largest stand of ponderosa pines in the valley, situated approximately two hours from the Phoenix area. The elevation within the district ranges from 6,000 to 7,900 feet. Crown King experiences all four seasons and has become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly those interested in off-road driving, camping, and fishing.
